Car audio advice

Well, one of my mids speakers blew today so Its time to spend some money.

I am looking to buy a set of componet speakers for my 01 civic. There 6.5 inch, but I recently purchased Inifinty Kappa perfect 6.1 only to find they would not fit in my door without cutting it (dont want to risk rust because a lot of water gets down there)

So, I need to know where, and what brand of components I should buy, that ofcourse fit nicly in my car. As far as budget im willing to a lot these speakers since I use em everyday and love clarity.

I have a 60x4 mosfet amp built into my pioneer deck but dont think thats going to do the trick so your recommendation on an amp specifically for the internals would be appreciated.

For amp and speakers Id like to spend around lets say a grand?

Where should I go? I was thinking Kromer Radio... any advice?

you want clarity and are willing to spend 1g, then go with focal, dont know where you could get them though. Mb quart are known for quality, very nice, not for subs though. kaption came out with a new line bi-ampable coxials, really nice and cheaper then focal and mb quart. MA Audio older synergy series (not mobile authority!!) are amazing, so you might be able to find them cheaper now if you wanna save some money but want great quality as well, dont really like their new line up though.

hope that helps.

Im happy with subs, Im willing to spend more as long as its for preformance and not niche names.

I got 2 Alpine Type R 12"s 1221d's. powered by a JBL 601.1 in a caluclated ported box. For now (that is until I go on my next audio splurge) will keep me happy in the bass department,.

keep the kappas and just build a new speaker mount for the door

take the plastic one out and build a new one out of mdf, is tha wha the fitting issues is with?

or did you take out the plastic spacer and the hole in the door is still to small for the magnet to fit through?

btw, MA Audio and Mobile authority are owned by the same compnay

as far as subs go, anything will work, what do you want out of the setup?

OK for any high end speaker you are going to 100% have to modify your door panel to fit the speakers in. If your looking to spend around $1000 for speakers and an amp for them you could grab something really nice.

A set of JL audio Xr's would be within ur budget i think and also you could look at the eclipse components aswell which sound awesome. If you dont mind not buying stuff at a store I can help you get some CDT, DLS or just about any of the other high end speakers not usually sold at stores.

For the amp anything that will do between 50-150 x 2 wrms is perfect for most component sets. As far as companies there are ton that make quality amps, JL, Eclipse, DLS, Us amps etc etc are all good quality amps.

If you want some help pm me and ill do my best

take some measurements of the speaker area in the door. all the speakers you look at will have the fitting specs. that way you can eleminate the ones that won't fit.

my buddy has a set of alpine type x 3way components, they are really nice, just expensive.

everyone seems to have that assumption, i far as i know they have no relations, ma audio is more related to visonik than anything.

ma audio's high end is 10,000wmax 5000rms, quad voice coil 660oz magnet. i havent seen mobile authority make anything near that.

dude, why dont you go for the pioneer 140watts?

they have a small magnet, and doesnt put strain on your radio's outputs, plus they can handle midrange and trebble

The fact that XS Cargo sells an item could mean the distributor or manufacturer is over stocked or bankrupt. On occasion XS Cargo has some decent stuff for dirt cheap and it usually goes fast when they do.
