AutoLOC Solenoid Install question

I'm installing power lock solenoids on a 93 Civic Si, and had a quick question.

I'm trying to find a way to pull the 5 cables to the solenoid across the gap between the door and the cabin. There is a flexible conduit there for the power mirrors and door open sensor, but it definitely doesn't look big enough to pull 5 more wires for a solenoid through it.

Has anyone else done an install? Did you drill new holes and run new conduit and grommets? Pull through the existing one somehow?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Trust me, you can fit more than 5 wires through that boot.

Pull off rubber connector of the boot at the top and bottom.......move rubber out of the way as much as possible......there might be some electrical tape on the ends, this will keep you from "fishing" the wires through......remove tape if it is there........then "fish" a single wire through the boot........take 3 pairs of wires (6 wires), or 2 pairs and a sigle one (5 wires)....fold the wire in have......tie the wire you "fished through the boot to these wire pairs.......pull the "fished" wire back through the boot......use a bit of WD-40 to help ease the wires though the boot........the rest should be easy.

If there is not enough room due to how close the door is, remove the door pin that keeps the door from opening too much.

Be careful......damage can occure to the door if it is opened too much with the pin removed.

That's the hardest part.

The next hardest is running the wires though the plastic connector in the door. There might be enough room to push 1 or 2 of the pairs on the top and bottom of that plastic connector.....if there isn't, remove the clip......push the wires through....replace the clip.

Trust me, there is plenty of room to run those wires.....it just takes patients.

Remember to make sure the top and bottom rubbers are replaced properly......if not, the boot will come off the moment you open and close the door a couple of times.

I also did another car earlier this year that had a total of 12 wires. (not the pic above)

2 for aftermarket power windows
2 for aftermarket power door locks
5 for folding/power mirrors (ran 6 wires...one will be used for a future upgrade)
2 for the factory door speakers.

Total.....12

Just take your time.
