Audio Problemzz

Hey guys...

I got a 2 gauge wiring kit, Pioneer premier mp3 deck, 2 12' PPI subs and two amps. I drive an EK hatch. I ran my power wire and RCA's down the same side of the car, like a total newbie/idiot. I'm 99.9 % sure my grounds are fine

Problem 1:

Whenever I turn my system on, there's a high pitched humming sound comming from my speakers I think. Whenever I accelerate, the sound "accelerates" also.

Problem 2:

Whenever I change from CD to Tuner, or from volume 1 to volume 0, there's a huge thumping sound commin from my subs.

I'm sure Problem 1 and 2 are due to the fact that my power and RCA's are on the same side?

Problem 3:

I had recently taken out my subs to fit my rims in the hatch, and when I put the subs back in, they sounded like crap. I went to my deck for the sub control, and instead of SUB ON and SUB REV and SUB off function on my deck, it says "NOFADON" and "NOFADOFF". What does this mean?

Problem 4:

At moderately high volumes, my infinity components make this knocking sound, although not as loud as the music. Could it be distortion?
Problem 5:

I need help tuning my system, can someone help me out if I drive it to them? I got infinity components and a decent speaker amp. Plkease help me out. Thanks.

the humming sound for sure is from ur rca's and power being on the same side
and check that all ur wiring is nice and tight,
the bass thumping may be from ur ground being loose

non fad on/off probably means to turn on and off your sub preouts

Problem 1:
Sounds like alt whine
Fix:
Move RCA away from large amperage draws, like power wire, or from noisey devices, like motors etc that create an EMF field

Problem 2:
Sounds like bad deck ground, or the trace is blown on your pre outs. I had the same issue on my pioneer, would thump alot.
Fix: Easy fix, and not pricey is to GRND the rca outputs to the deck case

Problem 3:
Non fade ON/OFF just means that the sub or rear channel on the preouts wont fade when you fade to the front preouts. NON FADE is good if your running a sub channel so the subs will always receive full output to the amp. If NON Fade is off, if you fade to the front whatever is on the rear channel will be faded according to the deck position.

Problem 4:
Knocking could be a bunch of things. The speaker bottoming out, clipping, or tinsel leads smacking back side of cone. Im lead to believe it is bottoming out and the physical parts of the speaker are hitting their limits. Try turning bass controls and bass boost off/low and see if it helps.

Hey guys... If I run my power wire and one set of speaker wire down the passenger side and all the other wires either down the middle or driver's side it will fix my problem?

I ran the power down the passenger's side, and the rest down the middle. The problem got 99% better. When I turn my volume to 0 from 1, i hear a really small thumping sound from the subs.. It might be a bad rca.. i'm gonna change one of them and see what happens...thanks for the help all

power can be run with speaker wire with no ill effects since they are higher voltage, and not line voltage that is used for audio signal transmission BEFORE it reaches amplification stage.

One of the sets of RCA's was faulty, and the power wire was ran separate from all the rest of the wires. When I change radio stations, there's still a slight thumping, but not as blaring as before. Thanks for all ur help guys
