alpine or jl

hey,

i'm going to get an amp and sub as soon as i make up my mind. i'd just like to know your opinions on alpine and jl subs/amps. i don't need something too powerful, just want to make to sound quality a bit better cuz the speakers don't seem to be doing the job. so i'd just like to hear what you think of alpine subs/amps vs. jl subs/amps. thanks.

JL w6 series....

or if you've got the dough w7...

way better than alpine imo...

it all depends on how much money you want to spend, and how loud you want it to be, if you don't want it that loud then you shouldn't have a problem with alpine or even lower end stuff....

Get yourself 2 jl Wo's and an e1200 and you will be more than happy.

anyone had experience with type s, type r, w0 and w3's with an opinion?

and would you go for a jl amp over alpine?

ive owned JL 12W0 before and a 15" Alpine Type R

id prefere JL over alpine

jl subs = good
jl amps = good

can't go wrong with the jl decission

JL audio's products are one hte best. I have the componet set and it blows away the pioneer ones I had.

i installed 4 jl 10w0's in a caddy STS running off about 400wrms and it sounds really nice and is really loud. I personally would take a jl amp over an alpine amp but i doubt for the average person it would make a difference.

Are the JLW0's any good? Looks like they don't have too much power.

the W0's are very good subs, it doesnt take alot of power to beloud.

Do they hit low? Think 2 12W0's would be enough in a hatchback?

I had my W0's in a 3.5 cu^ft ported box to around 35hz and it hit nice and low, but had control at the same time... heck i had them off a Zapco ag200 90 X 2 rms amp and they still hit damn hard with that setup with little power

good sub for its price

i got a 40X2 kicker amp running a single jensen 12 and it hits super loud and deep too... its all about the box and the control

Would you say its better than the 10" MTX Blue Thunders?
