Hello everyone.

I have a PRESTIGE alarm on my car since last year, which I installed it myself and has been working beautifully.

Recently it goes silent, every now and then.

I ARM, DISARM it, parking lights flash, but there is no sound. I kick the car so the alarm goes on, it does, lights flash and everything, but there is no sound (siren) comming off the speaker.

This happens only sometimes, whenever it feels like it, making me wonder if there has some loose connection appeared somewhere....

Any ideas about this?

Find the wires that are coming out from the brain for the siren, and cut them off. Reattach new wires and run them back to the siren, There might be a broken conection somewhere along the line. Running a new line would be easier than trying to find the possible break.

BUT.......before you cut any wires......borrow another siren from a friend and see if yours is fubared. If yes, siren was the problem. If the problem is still there, THEN replace the wire. If after you do both those things, and it STILL has the problem......it's the output from the brian. Since you installed it yourself, there won't be a warrenty on it.......so it might be cheaper toget a new one.
