Would not buy any of them. Way too expensive for a pipe with a filter in the end.
Why not just get a short piece of pipe that goes in the stock tubing with airbox removed and slap a filter on there?
The whole cai vs sri is nonsense so don't say this gives more power vs this. You will not feel any gains from non of those intakes and with a cai you are risking hydrolocking when you hit puddles.
If you want the intake anyways, get one from ebay or one of the affiliates like TooFastMotors.
I'm not trying to bring you down but in my eyes its just not worth it.

Use search and you'll come across dozens of discussions about intakes. The only thing that would actually work and would be somewhat worth it is a k&n velocity stack.

Ya I was actually doin some research and I dont think im going to go with a Cold air simpily because im going to be driving it in the winter..

I think im going to to get a Injein short ram regardless of the gains..I like the looks and sounds on top of that there not that expensive..the cheap ones I think even hurts your performance more then anything..my brother had one he got rid of it also.

Cheap ebay piping with a GOOD filter like K&N on the end of it will have the same effect compared to buying a complete brand name intake setup, so is it really worth the money spending on something for a minor, yet almost no difference?

I agree with Scriders first comment.

However, you gotta start somewhere. I used a AEM CAI for my 96' HB before it had the B18C ITR in it. didn't notice a difference. In my STI I have an Injen CAI, that goes into my fender. I noticed a little (very little) difference.

What I DO like about a CAI, the look and the sound! My AEM intake tricked my sister, after a few wobbly pops (I'm a good DD ), into thinking she heard cricktes... My STI's Injen intake... just sound bad *** and my BPV is a lot louder because of it!

If you got the money, buy one! If you're looking for performance on a budget, get a lightened flywheel, Cam Shafts, Tires, Stiff Mounts, better shifter, Light weight crank Pully, all those you might notice and cost the same if not less! Funny How a flywheel is cheaper than an intake.

all good thoughts ya my brother has one of those pipes with a huge HKS cone..does look and sound good..

My dad also has a STI he has a Injein STI Edition CAI and that also looks amazing, sounds good and helps with performance considering he has many other upgrades. The moneys not the issue and I am key on having the best of whats out there for my cars so I think il just give it a try sometime soon

A turbo engine will benefit from a better flowing intake than an N/A engine. A velocity stack like one from k&n or other brands, messes with the way air enters the tube. With a more uniform flow and higher velocity than just a regular cone, it does help a bit. Now if you have a turbo engine, the turbine sucks in air at much higher speeds and a velocity stack or a modified intake will show a lot more.

What size piping are you looking for because i got a 2.5in AEM filter if you want. What i did was get a cheap SRI pipe and used a AEM dry flow filter and thats good enough for 0.5hp

1.6L D series? Dual cam or single?

I'm not sure, but that's specs you should post. And maybe start a new thread.
