Exhaust Fell Offf!!!

ok so im driving down the street and all of a sudden my exhaust sounds like it is 57" in diameter.. i get out to see and the exhaust , the part after the canister has come aparet form the pipe... is this welded on or bolted, i dont understand how it could just fall off, its now being held up by only the hangers and is hanging dangerously low

any help?

thanks

you mean the inner end of the muffler broke loose from the pipe?

probably just rotted out....see it all the time

Go buy a new muffler.

Usually rots out in that area....no big deal.

Happens often. Youll have to replace your muffler. When it happened on my old eg, I ended up getting exhaust done.

i have my stock exhaust from my sedan..that i took off when i put an sir one on there can i just put that one?

Joker 11-Oct-2007 05:22 PM

and also, what would be a temp option right now, take it off complelty or let it hang there

Polkaroo Killa 11-Oct-2007 06:39 PM

If it's not making any difference in the sound, you may as well rip it off. No sense driving around with a muffler that can fly off at any given moment.

However you risk getting a noise pollution ticket.

Bring your stock exhaust to an exhaust shop and have them weld it on.

i am going to try rip it off tomorow

fingolfin 12-Oct-2007 06:56 PM

its not rocket science, so yes canadian tire can do it without messing it up...

speedy might be more expensive, but more trust worthy, they do exhausts all day long
