Dual Exhaust For a EG Hatch
#28
I saw this add at Japan Auto Direct for a '95 civic with dual exhaust.. I think it looks alright.. Doesn't really matter what other people think dude go with what you like. It's your car and no one elses.

dual exhaust has absolutely no advantages for a civic. It just adds weight.
If you want to do it for looks, go for it.
What you could do is dual tips. Instead of spending the money on 2 seperate mufflers and having a y-pipe before the mufflers, just use one muffler with a y-pipe after and 2 tips. They even sell mufflers with dual tips...how bout that? lol.
But 2 seperate mufflers is just a waste. There is only one pipe coming back from the front of the car, only need one muffler/outlet.
The s2000 comes with dual rear mufflers which, imo, is a waste and it's purely done for looks. If I ever bought an s2k that would be the 1st thing I'd change.
Now muscle cars, thats another story. They've got big V8's, some with 3 or more times the displacement of our tiny honda motors. they actually need the dual exhaust systems with a crossover pipe which helps make power. And I'm talking about true dual - 2 headers into an H-pipe, then 2 seperate pipes/mufflers all the way back. NOT the dual exhaust you see on some pickup trucks, where the stock manifolds go into a y pipe, then into 1 cat and 1 pipe back to a single muffler, then split back to 2 pipes out the back.

grrr, please dont do dual exhaust.. honda's just weren't meant for 2..they look amazing on a vette, but on a civic.. it just doesnt suit it... *ive got a friend who wants to do a full tan interior like a ferrari*.. there's a reason companys made things for their own toys.. please dont mix and match... just doesnt work :'(
**but i guess to each their own...**
