Aem v2 in the winter

Does anyone run a Aem v2 in the winter? How does it perform? I was thinking on getting one but I might just pick up a short ram to avoid any issues. I've seen some pics of the filter right beside the battery but I've also seen others quite low to the ground depending on the engine.

If anyone has any pics showing where the filter of the v2 sits on their D17A1, or even a description that would be great.

Thanks

The V2 is a CAI, so when it is mounted you won't be able to see the filter. For that motor tho, just get a short ram, it's not worth the extra coin for the V2.

the bypass valve protects your engine from hydrolock in case the filter gets completely submerged in water. Not really that necessary unless your filter sits close to the ground... but if you like driving around in deep puddles and rain, then its better to be safe than sorry.

Before you spend your money, you should know it doesn't make power on this motor (in fact you'll lose midrange) and you can get the same noise by taking off the intake resonator for free.

Also a FYI the AEM bypass valves have been discountinued for the most part there were problems with the foam from the bypass getting sucked up and sticking up the throttle body.
