ZC Question

Whats the difference between b16 and zc engines? is the zc a v- tec and does it do the job?

B16 has like 30 more horse and 3 lbs ft of torque more, don't think the zc's come in vtec, if so good luck gettiing one but you can get a sohc or dohc zc's around but none have vtec, b16 has vtec. Zc does the job ok, b16 does it better especially if you go with an A2 which will run much nicer and cleaner and also comes with a nice hydro clutch/tranny but if your putting it in your 4th gen you can't use it.

i call the zc the "lazy man's swap" cuz it's a straight drop in, to a 4th gen. however it pulls nice, but not comparable to a b16

if you have a dx, then you will have to do a lot of extra wiring, for the multi-port fuel injection, and it's a lot of headaches, in a si it's straight.
a b16 on the other hand, isn't it's much harder, you have to modify everything, for a list, pm me and i will explain. but it's worth the little extra money for a b16

My Blue Si, you can now install any b-series motor into our cars w/out sacrificing the hydro tranny. Hasport makes b-series mount for our cars that include a new plate that will convert the hydro tranny, read it on honda-tech. so that means we can use the hydro tranny. ITR lsd when i get a swap ....

"B series are a lazy mans swap" everyone has them, every civic should come stock with them seeing as thats everyones first choice in motor.

Imo more torque is better, keep the ZC or a D motor unless you drop something like a b18, b20 or H22

id say a b16 was a better engine obivously but you would save a lot on a ZC even if it was just a first gen b16. use the extra money over time to build the motor.

i thought F20C was the S2000 motor. and the F20B was the front wheel drive version of the s2000 motor.

as for putting that in your car...lol...good luck...converting that ****. and the cost to do that...won't be worth it on a 12 year old car.
dont' get me wrong.. 4th gens are very fun to drive

but to each their own. i wouldn't mind having an H22 setup or even a frankenstein setup. either of those will be suffice for me.

don't bother with a b16...dented dx i HEARD ,but its prolly true(cause many members saw) sleighed a **** load of b16 civics...so , and his i am assuming is stock....so, a zc is a lot better ,since u are paying double or more for a b16.....and u can jsut build your zc with the amount of money u spend on a b16 and get more ponies....plus i have a zc in my winter beater...and its faster than my summer car, and i haven't raced any b16's ,but i am sure i can keep up with most of them

ZC is nice, torque right off the lights,
I beat alot of b16's with my sohc zc in my hatch

the zc also came VTEC, but online in a single cam version
exact to the d15b jdm ver of the d16z6..

the dohc zc is the one you want 130 hp but they make power almost 2000 rpm's lower than the b16a.

zc vs b16a1 in the same cars wwill be even till 3rd gear where the b16 will pull harder but a zc in a 4th gen with some breather's will take b16'd 5th gen's... gsr's(stock)...sir's....but a b16 has way more potential...a b16 with brethers woudl pumble a zc with breathers in the same car so....the zc is a god bang for the buck..plus you can make yoru own cheapo turbo kti using a hx mani.. then you wodul beat the **** outta alot of all motor b series...
