Yellow Top Battery

hey guys I bought a yellow top battery (model=51) and I heard that I am suppose to use the 51R model (car = 2000 SIR), but when I opened the hood the normal 51 looks exactly like my stock battery, positive and negative were in the same position, is this the right battery or not?

sizewise, unlikely.... our batteries are REALLY small, so a regular Optima doesn't fit in the wee little stock location. Ask BOND007, he should know which one you need. I have a red top in one of the cars, and I know it wouldn't fit in the Civic.

51R is for Honda/Acura...

I was there last month..

The R is for the poles being reversed..

Aaaron is correct, 51R is exactly what you need, but fear not you can still use the 51 you just need to reverse the leads so they fit correctly on the battery.

i swear me and the guy from performance improvements opened my hood and exactly where red and black were on the stock battery, those were the exact places they were on the yellow top, maybe he gave me a 51R who knows, but i specifically remembering him telling me it wasn't a 51R, it was just for a civic, Is there anywhere on the battery where i can check the model number? havent put it in yet, just bought it and put it in my garage, didnt even look at it properly, its pretty heavy though i remembered lifting it

The fact that they are better makes them better

Deep cycling, spill proof gel core, overall just one helluva battery.

and sealed gel cel mean it dont release toxic flamable gases when it charges so its safe to put inside the car with no ventilation

yep

they give you more key off play time for your car audio, and if you drain the battery right down and charge it back up you hurt the battery less than if it was a reg battery

as for cold, i dont think there any diff than reg batteries

A cap is good for occasional hits of base, but it is NOT the end-all solution to your problem. Either upgrade to a bigger alternator or turn down the volume
