wut engine do i have??

i had a 1.6 sohc vtec swapped into my 95 5th gen hatch. it has "ZC" stamped into the block. is it a ZC then? i thought ZC's were Dohc non-vtec..i dunno....sumone else told me it's a d-series. i thought it was a d16z6. i need to know wut engine this is and possibly wut car it came from.

thanks. (also, wut does it mean when u guys type "bump")

you have a ZC

might be one of those OBD1's then

If its DOHC it will have a wide head on it, if its SOHC it will look small

bump is when someone is selling something, and they wanna take it back to the top so more ppl see it. cuz threads are listed in order of last post time.

You have a ZC... ZCs came in both SOHC and DOHC configurations, but YES, both were based off a D-series block.

Look between the 2nd. and 3rd. cylinder on the block above the dipstick. The last two digits should be stamped there. That's the year your ZC was made in.

and for the record, I would think a VTEC ZC does not exist, though once again, I do not know a whole lot about ZC motors.

dentedx will hopefully come along and save the day.

Yeah, but I heard people on here won't like you much if you call the club TTC. They would rather you call it TCC.
Anyways, welcome to a club full of smartasses

I just swaped a DOHC ZC into my 93 hatch....it aint too fast though(i dont really notice too much difference)....It used to be a cx and i am still running the same ecu! I have headers, SRI and a full catback exhaust! would switching my ecu make the noticable amount of hp difference i expected? also it is a 94 motor! should i use the 92-95 si ecu or the 88-89 integra ecu?

..........?

I don't really know if it would be the same in your car...but for 4th gens an actual ZC ecu if you could find one would be best...then integra...then si...also, which tranny are you using with it? that makes a huge difference too.

Im still running my d15 tranny! i know....i should switched it but i didnt plan on doing this swap. I blew my head gasket and the old engine had 250 k on it so i didnt think there was any sense fixing it considering the price of used engines...I was kinda broke at the time plus this isn't really the platform i wanna build off of, so i didnt go all out! with my stock tranny and a new ecu u think i can give an si a good go(beat it)?

Oh man....

switch your ECU to a DOHC ecu... check thezcr.com for the correct ecu choice. Even with those mild mods, I almost wanna say run a B18B ECU...

that CX tranny is KILLING you... get an Si tranny PLEASE!! It's the only logical way to go. You can pick up a tranny for like $300 and a clutch kit for another $300... and you'll be rawkin'
