What's first?

New to the forum, did a search about increasing the HP on my car and couldn't fine anything specific. I'm basically looking to increase the HP on my 2000 si coupe and was wondering what order things could be done in? Any constructive information would be greatly appreciated.

turbo
supercharger
engine swap
those are the biggest and do the most, the rest of this stuff doesn't do as much unless your doing all of it with one or two of the bigger things

maybe port n polish
cams
injectors
fuel rails
air intake, basicaly no increase
cat back exhaust, once again, wont feel diff
tons of stuff, just depends on how far you wanna go and how much you wanna spend

Try improving the handling before you make it faster. My own opinion, but I like a good handling car over one that is stupid fast.

I say handling and brakes first before power. What good is lots of power if your car can't handle, or you can't stop fast and repeatedly when you need to.

it all depends what you want... theres a member that put an h22 into a 5th gen civic with 360 000 kms and everything is completely stock... that car is more fun to drive then a d16a1 powered car that can handle on rails...

mind you i did my suspension in its entirety first and have a d16 still may not be stock but still nothing to be happy about having

The reason I'm looking for more HP is that I've gone from a v6 to this honda so there is a noticable difference. I would agree that handling and braking should be first before increasing the HP. And spracingsports, as stated I didn't find anything specific to my car but thanks for your $0.02.

Do I/H/E, everybody here will tell you that the gains are minimal, but I noticed a big difference in Cantonagod's 98 Si. All the lag seemed to dissappear.

To be honest, I'm not looking to spend alot since I just bought the car. I'm slowly reading some of the posts to try and get to know my way around the lingo/abbreviations and mechanics of the car. Guess I'll just keep reading and get myself a good manual.
