What oil do you use?

I am just wondering, in the summer time, what oil do you use?

5W30 or else?

Also do you guy actually feel any different when using Synthetic oil?

Are they really worth the $$$ or just a big waste?

Are synthetic good for daily driven?

What Brand do you use(conventional and Synthetic)?

Thanks for the input!

regards,
Mugen C

Well, I just switched to MAsoil Synthetic and I can tell the difference.

Car seems to run smoother and it is also quieter.

I heard that Motul are very expensive and hard to get too....is that true? But they are also no good for daily driven, correct me if I am wrong!

Last oil change I switched to synthetic (whatever Honda uses) for summer 10W30. The only difference I noticed that they didn't seem to spill it all over my engine this time, because I didn't have that horrific burning smell after the oil change. I'll let you know how it looks after my next change (probably next week).

Castrol GTX

I might be switching to Syntec within a month. I bought a whole case of the stuff a while back in anticipation but I'm not so sure anymore. I change my oil frequent enough that I don't need to worry what brand of oil I'm using.

oil

my engine burns oil. its a 92. is the black stuff coming from the exhaust that sticks to the bumper the burned oil? one more question, what kinda mileage does everyone get on their full tank of gas on normal driving conditions on a stock motor if anyone has still have one? i get 600+km on a full tank, h-way driven mostly.

I've been using Mobil One Synth. I find the race oils to be to thin for everyday use. When I used Amsoil is was adding a quart every couple of weeks depending on how hard I would drive. By the way my car has over 270 000. Yah that's right TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY THOUSAND kilometers on it and it runs like it did the day it pick it up from the dealer. No joke.

How many clicks you got? I had the same motor and before the swap I would burn about 2L every 5000km. And it would be very black, and yeah that stuff coming out of the exhaust is the burned oil. I use to get 550km per tank (auto), then I burned out the o2 sensor and that went down to 350 km per trank. My new motor (5sp.) gets close to 500 per tank, but that's pure granny driving.

Free filters are always good. What kinda filter is it? I guess if you're burning lots of oil and always topping it off, at least you'll always have fresh oil.

Will it harm your engine if you keep on switching between Synthetic and conventional oil?

I wanted to switch to synthetic oil...but heard that if you switch over after using dyno juice you risk getting an oil leak. Users of other boards experieced leaks after the change....anyone experience this?

I currently use Quaker State 5w30 all year round.
