twin charged tuning

Hello GTA:

I have a civic gsr with jackson racing supercharger. Is there a reputable shop in Southern/Western Ontario that can install a turbo set-up and then hondata tune a twin charged motor? I live on Toledo, Ohio, about four hours away from GTA but I don't want to broadcast my project locally. Thanks.

Chris

Chris, sell your supercharger and go turbo. Twin charging is not efficient. If you wanna do it for the bling, then just go to Payn Technology in Detroit, MI... he's built many force fed cars, and he is a Hondata dealer too.

TAG Racecraft in Oakville, Ontario has lots of turbo and super- charged tuning experience on domestics and imports!

Thanks for the responses, bbarbulo and dropgear. I must say, when it comes to my car, there is no bling: rims, sold; paint this winter (flat black). I would like to add 80 horsepower with a T28 Turbo off a friend's sr20dett but i don't want to lose the supercharger power. There are a lot of MR2's with a twin-charged set-up with 450 to 500 hp and that is my eventual goal. Next would be attempting to put this power to the ground. I've spent many days and nights thinking about going with just a turbo, but there are just too many turbo b-series civics out there and I would like to be different. Although I'm still debating.
As far as I know, there are no twin-charged civics in the Michigan/Ohio area.

i REALLY hope you have a BUILT motor, FYI MR2s have forged internals right out of the box... those engines were MEANT for turbo... honda engines HATE boost the strongest stock engine (b18a/b) can still only handle 11-12psi daily driven... i bet your charger is putting about 7 if you want moer power then a pulley is where it's at....

The built engine is good for lots of heat. I have a supercharger and pushing 11 psi and no problems, tuning is the answer. If there is no prolonged detonation, there wont be any problems. If the engine is stressed often, its good for about 15 psi on the bottom end, I did alot of research before putting the charger in and as long as you dont treat it like an indy car it will be good. Detontaiton is what ruins ringlands and pistons. Just my opinion.

Yup, planning on pistons, rods, sleeves, valve train, etc. for the motor BEFORE adding the turbo. I have to agree with Scott, the B18C1 can handle quite a bit with proper tuning. That's why Hondata will be my first purchase and then building the motor. Everyone around Toledo knows I'm saving money to have my motor built. I hope to be ready by the end of summer. Thanks to all for the responses.

Chris.
