Forget it...it's just an obstruction in your intake.

WTF is that thing!!! I know someone that thought up this same dumb idea and it did not work worth a damn! The only thing it does is help cirulate air however with it actually on the intake you will restrict air flow at the same time. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!

you might get 1 lb of boost but truth is that there is no power to "force air into the manifold" so though this could create good air flow the fan itself would have t obe fast enough to always be moving the air into the tube

come on now boys and girls...the idea has merit....and so does the tornado...its just thier execution......gimme a fan with 7 miniblades at 45 degree angles pushing 24 volts and 10000 rpm an di'll show you true boost but th etruth is these little fan ouy get in these things will not push the air you want.....

a turbine is a turbine but power is everything and that little thing aint going to make the power you want.....

Actually, most of those "electric superchargers and turbochargers" are made from boat blower motors. Boats need these fans to vent the engine bay before starting the engines, so the fumes don't blow the boat up. Why do you think so many boats blow up -- ppl forget to use the fan. Anyways, this is what you are getting into your intake pipe....basically a 12V bathroom ventilation unit

Actually, a few years back on purehonda.com when that forum was really kickin, a few of us were trying to engineer a legit blower made from a leaf blower. The math wouldn't work out though, unless you used a gas powered blower in which case, how would you regulate the output with respect to your engine speed? A lot of issues were raised, but when Haydn shut the site down, our little group was dissolved.

The turbo can push extra air into your intake up to 4,780 rpm’s*
Then what? It blocks you air?

IMO the system still makes sence but its applicating is complealty off

if you know what tvis is then you would know how this should be done.....

at a certin rpm there should be a step up in air consumption and if you can increase boost as you increase the need for air you can increase performance as you accelerate..

idealy your torque and hp would give you nice smooth power lines with no spikes (like nos) and no lag or spooling issues (single turbo) to achive this you would have to be able to match your input and out put nearly exactly and there is NO BETTER way to do that than with a computerized system that would adjust it's self to match your needs.....

is a turbo adaptable?....no
is a sc adaptable?....kinda
is a boat blower adaptable?.... no way in hell

but stilll if you could find a fan that made the rpms to increase the pressue on your air CONSISTANTLY while increasing and decreasing as your car revs at diffrent limits you WOULD FIND POWER INCREASES......

YOU DO THE MATH.
vacuum is .5 psig over atmosphear.
typical fan can create .5 to 1 pisg.
and that = DENSER air which=more o2particles which= stronger more consistantnfire which=more power

but if i were going to try one this would be it

Hey, she's kinda cute...

MG, how can you say that a turbo does not adapt to the needs of the engine, whereas a supercharger does.

Yeah, the super is related to crank speed via pulley, but it is limited in that relationship linearly by the size of the pulley. If you worked out a gear system or like a CVT type system, it'd make sense, except for the fact that the loss of effieciency would be even greater since there are frictional losses in the gearing system.

Turbos are directly related to engine speed and WOT conditions via exhaust volume and velocity. At WOT, exhaust gasses abound, and the turbo thrives. The engine uses it's own waste to make more power. The idea is brilliant. I haven't seen 800hp supercharged Silvias, but I've seen the JUN turbo Silvia make 800hp. Fack superchargers
