Tranny doesn't shift smooth.

I have a integra Automatic. The car has 119.000km. Everything is in perfect condition and driving wise. I just got the car like that and it's a automatic car. When u shift u can feel it seems like hard shifting. The car goes nice and fast, but when u shift it doesn't shift that well, especially when it is cold. Even when it warms up it is still not perfect though. Anyone know what the problem is.

People dun tell me to try and change tranny fluid. They are like brand new and are red and dun have any burnt smell.

I need someone who knows what the problem is. No guessing here pls. A advice would be great though.

Would those sluggish tranny fluid stuff u pour in is any good?

Would it be the servo's inside the tranny? Any help would be great thanx.

I would honestly flush and change the transmission fluid, its the cheapest solution that could fix it. Give it a shot

the changing of tranny fluid will make a bit of a difference but won't fix the problem I'm sure.
does it not downshift when you go full throttle? My dad's accord was the same way and shifted really harshly. I'm not gonna try and tell you whats wrong but he ended up paying big bucks to fix it. same with my cuzin's accord, has the same problems as you and is goin to have to pay big bucks. but that gen accord has transmission problems.

/\dito on the hondas having crap autos

Most likely the thing has been abused (ie not coming to a complete stop before changing gears). IMO its not worth trying to diagnose and fix an automatic tranny, your bettter off sourcing a used one off a wreckers and throwing that in.

It isn't that bad actually. There's no pt of rebuilding it if it is still running. I just add a bottle of those tranny smooth shrudder shifting stuff inside. My boss say it might help so just give it a try. My friend told me that most integra's auto are like that. Maybe they are like that. This car has not been abused.

any additives are no good with honda transmissions, there too finicky. Your saying the fluid in there right now is fresh?? do you know for sure that it was HONDA ATF in there?

That's what i was thinking. If i change to Honda ATF would it be better. Rite now i dunno what kind of fluid is in there. But they are damn red and fresh. I will try that then. If not then i know it is the servo's inside the tranny, but u can drive like that for a long time until the tranny goes.

Not sure how expensive new ones are, but you could try another set of linear(?) solenoids. The ones that sit externally on the top of the tranny.
Maybe even try a used set from the wreckers or something.

For fluid, you could even try some synthetic ATF. Not too expensive considering you need ~3L

all lucas products are real good. for under 20 bones a bottle you might as well give it a try.

did you say you got your tranny flushed and refilled? does the tranny shift late? did the shop throw dexatron into the tranny?
