Tire Thread

I've been thinking about this every since i got some new tires... It would be nice to see what type of tires everyone is running and what they think of them. Ill start off

Make/Model/Size: Falken Azenis RT-215, 205/50/15

Cost: Around $500 installed/balanced. (I bought them in a package so im not sure the exact cost)

Dry Traction: 10/10 Amazing, i could take any turn at almost any speed and not slide. These tires impart a great amount of confidence on a driver. Highly recommended for someone looking for ultimate dry traction.

Wet Traction: 4/10 Scary! These tires are not desinged to be driven on anything other then moist roads. When i had to drive on the highway in the rain, the tires hydroplaned at even modest speeds. Making it one of the scariest drives I've ever had to do

Overall Thoughts: 9/10 I really liked these tires, they have a unique look, excellent traction and a reasonable price. The only problem is I moved to the wet coast were it rains everyday in the winter.

Make/Model/Size: Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3, 195/50/15

Cost: $1000 installed

Dry Traction: 7/10 Good, but not great. I've had the back end start to come around a couple times on truns were it shouldn't. These tires can't compare to the Falkens for dry traction. But, for day to day driving there are great.

Wet Traction: 9/10 Wow! These tires are great in the rain. I feel complete confidence on the road now at all times. I don;t have to adjust my driving style when its raining anymore, the tires can take it. This isn't to say they maek you invinceable in the rain, that impossible!

Overall Thoughts: 8/10 Im happy with the Goodyears overall. The tread pattern is pretty cool. But, most of all im no longer scared of driving in the wet. I do wish they were a bit closer to the Azenis's in dry traction though...

Make/Model/Size: Falken Azenis RT-215, 195/60/14

Cost: 340 - installed and balanced

Dry Traction: 90/10 Amazing, On cold nights you can lose traction around corners.

Wet Traction: 4/10 Scary! These tires are not desinged to be driven on anything other then moist roads. When i had to drive on the highway in the rain, the tires hydroplaned at even modest speeds. Making it one of the scariest drives I've ever had to do (totally agree)

Overall Thoughts: 9/10 I really liked these tires, they have a unique look, excellent traction and a reasonable price.
Just gotta stay away from heavy rain, or wait it out until it stops.

I will post up some other reviews when i have more time

-Falken Ziex
-toyo proxie Z24 (i think that is model)

Make/Model/Size: Falken Ziex 205/50/16
Cost: 600 - installed and balanced

Dry Traction: 6/10, Better than stock, but still broke free to much.

Wet Traction: 7/10 You can actually drive with this tire in the rain without problems. But still could be better

Overall Thoughts: 6/10 Usually pricing isnt that bad. Corning and straight line driving was better than average.

Re: Tire Thread

Make/Model/Size: Yokohama ES100, 225/45/16

Cost: Around $850 installed/balanced.

Dry Traction: 8/10 Decent dry traction. Never a slip in any corner. Never experienced any tire spin on takeoff.

Wet Traction: 5/10 If the roads were just damp these tires were fine. If the tread had to ever channel any water, you were in trouble. Heavy rain made it undrivable.

Overall Thoughts: 6/10 Tires were worn out and needed replacing by 15,000 km. Terrible in wet, and premature wear, makes this tire unrecommendable.

Make/Model/Size: BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW, 225/45/16

Cost:About $1100 installed/balanced.

Dry Traction: 9/10 Great tire performance.

Wet Traction: 9/10 That new tread design really channels the water out. Have not experienced any hesitation in driving in the rain.

Overall Thoughts: 9/10 By far the best tire I've driven on in the Prelude. Would certainly purchase these again when its time.

Make/Model/Size: Bridgestone Blizzaks LM-22/LM-25, 205/50/16

Cost:About $800 installed/balanced.

Dry Traction: 7/10 Good dry performance for a winter tire. I was surprised.

Wet Traction: 10/10 Nothing beats a winter tire in the rain. Never had any problem.

Overall Thoughts: 8/10 Top Notch winter tire. They really do stick to ice when new!! They wear fairly fast due to the soft compound, and with the amount I drive I only get two seasons out of them, but I expected that.

Make/Model/Size: Yokohama Parada Spec2 205/40R16
Cost: cost me not alot since i work at a dealership

Dry Traction: 9/10 awesome traction.. very sticky

Wet Traction: 8/10 awesome traction for me as well for these
i can take corners really well even in a rain storm.. (not that i dont drive safe in the rain) but i beat it quite a bit when no car is around and its safe to do so

Overall Thoughts: 8/10 not good for street use, seems to wear faster then other tires ive used. but dry/wet traction is really good.

Make/Model/Size: Falken ZE512 195/50R15

Cost: $360 installed

Dry Traction: 8/10 straight, 6/10 lateral

Wet Traction: Same as above.

Overall: 7/10. Good if you want quiet, soft, comfortable summer+A/S tires. Not good for performance.

Make/Model/Size Bridgestone Potenza RE910 195/50R15

Cost $400+

Dry Traction: 9/10

Wet traction: 8/10

Overall 8.5/10. Man these tires have stiff walls. Makes bumps hurt. Can whip around corner's like a ZR rated tire that's been heated up. Very good performance.

Make/Model/Size Toyo Ultra 800 A/S 195/60R14

Cost $420 installed

Dry Traction: 8/10 Surprisingly good.

Wet/Snow Traction: 9/10 Crazy deep grooves and strong biting snow traction for A/S.

Overall: 8/10. Good tires BUT!!!!! noisy. From new to 50% where they are at.

Make/Model/Size: Starfire (made by Cooper) SX5000. 195-50-15. ALL SEASON tires.

Cost: Total $420 including install, valve stems and balance.

Dry Traction: 8/10, good traction on paved surfaces and on dirt roads.

Wet Traction: 7/10. They perform as expected in the rain, just dont get cocky and think you can drive like a maniac.

Tread wear 10/10. I've had these for 2 years now, including being driven in the winter, burnouts here and there, and they are subject to mild camber from my lowering. I put about 35,000kms on them so far and they're holding up very well

Overall Thoughts:8/10..dont mistake these for amazing performance tires, but if you're looking for a good set of all-seasons for a cheaper price than some of the other brands, check these tires out.

Make/Model/Size: Dunlop SP Sport FM901 205/40ZR16

Cost: Total $750 including install, valve stems and balance.

Dry Traction: 9/10, excellent traction and grip around tight turns...

Wet Traction: 6/10.. decent wet driving but were very sloppy at highway speeds in the rain...

Tread wear 10/10. Had them for about 1.5 years and had tons and tons of meat left on them when i sold the car...

Overall Thoughts:8/10.. I loved these tires, awesome handling and were very sticky on the road... i was only a bit disapointed in the rain but with a performance tire, that was about expected
