Suspension Set-up questions

OK heres the deal , I drive a bone stock 2000 SiR I'm planning on doing the suspension first. The first item on my list is a set of skunk2 coilovers already have been ordered, My qestion is what else do I need for a good set-up , I was thinking probaly all the bushings will be changed as well to urethane, but other then that I don't know what else I should get. I'm looking for a good stiff and at least semi comfortable ride, any suggstions would be helpful or maybe just the setup u have on your SiR might help. thanks guys for reading my noob *** questions.

shocks is what you want...skunk 2 will ride very harsh and uncontrolled withotu a good adjustable shock...tokico illumina's or koni yellows is what you want...bushings woudl be the last thing...dotn' drop it more than 2 inches even then your losing most your suspension travel thus causing a bad setup...

urethane bushings tighten up your suspension really... and they dont make the ride ultra harsh like some people claim...

I like the Tokicos personally .... but any aftermarket adjustable shock will do you good.... sway bars and bushings would be the next thing to consider then braces to finish it all off

so basiclly stay away from the coilovers all together? the ajustability is not really an issue for me cause I dont drive in the winter but a nice stance and at least decent capabilties is what I want , although i havent yet ...(stock tires and suspension)...I will be making the odd trip to the track for some laps if i can find the time...once again guys thanks for your input it helps a great amount.

ok in your case than go with a set of H&R sport springs, or eibach pro kit, mated with a a set of performance shocks of your choice according to your budget.

..............adj............. non adj

tokico...Illumina........HP sport (blues)

Kyb........AGX .................GR2

Koni.......Yellows ...........Reds

Then maybe toss in a full set of strut bars and lower tie bars

Then maybe a bigger rear swaybar (your SIR front should be good enough)

Then Energy suspension

and dont forget to get performance tires, or everything else will be pretty much useless...

if you don't care about adjustability, 100% for sure -> get springs rather than coilovers, and the extra money you should put towards shocks like everyone said.
