Superchips

anyone ever heard of the Superchips ECU "tuner"? ... i think they only make it fot trucks and stuff. supposedly you just plug it in to a port under the dash and press a few buttons and you can get up to 100 hp and 200 lb/ft torque! my dad wants one for his silverado....

well i was wondering if there are anything like this for hondas? a simple plug and play, non-hardcore programming software..

imported_gatherer 04-May-2004 02:09 PM

there's nothing like that for a honda.. these "superchips" are for desiel trucks ... simply because all they do is up the boost and increase the fuel... which on desiels give lots of extra power

dingus88 04-May-2004 03:39 PM

:dito: ..they have kit's "bullydog" beign the leader for diesel perfomrance...up the boost yada yada...then you can get hard pipies bigger dp and exhaust's...yada yada...even on a silverado they have been known to add a good 10 whp and such..on hp TV they have used it many times on their trucks...worth a try...but put it on the dyno to make sure...but them you will ahve to use premium fuel and have ****ty gas milage so.....

im not sure if this is what you mean but it says its an ecu upgrade

and it fit all 90-up honda civics and accords, preludes and integras,

JET chips are a total waste of money for a honda....

The G2 Racer 04-May-2004 04:52 PM

Most 'chips' won't give you much of a noticable gain on a Honda from my exp.

spracingsports 04-May-2004 05:13 PM

ok thanx guys, i figured that i would a hardcore built motor for any ecu tuning to make a difference...

The G2 Racer 04-May-2004 05:27 PM

Even on a built motor a chip isn't going to do much imo. Chips are pretty much universal.

However dyno tuning can have very good results as it's tailored to the engine/car set up.
