Steering wheel shudders

Steering wheel shudders
when im on the hiway at about 120 and over my steering wheel shakes, sometimes worse than other times.my balancing is ok, tire pressures are even and no bent rims. could this be a cause of poor alignment since i havent got the car re-aligned after i had the adjustable camberkits installed?
Also, when i brake the car shakes a bit. i have magnum drums and drilled rotors. i have had them for maybe 2 years now. uneven surfaces maybe?

Pulsation when braking is normally casued by warped rotors (front if the steering wheel shakes, rear if its felt in the "floor"). Have you had your tires balanced recently? Normally a vibration is casued by an out of balced tire on the front if its the steering wheel shaking at a constant speed. Snow , ice, threw a weight, bent rim etc.....I say these all again just cause you dont say if you have had any of these checked recently and properly on a balance machine. Warped rotors will not casue a vibration when driving (unless it is bent somehow), just when braking.

My wife is having the same problem with her car. Check for ice first, then look into rotors. If your tires are bad enough you should be able to feel lumps on the tread, if that is what the problem is. If not then its brake time. KVR or stop tech is good for the price. Theyr'e stock size and run about $140-160 a pair.

you said you haven't done an alignment since you installed the kit. Go get one, then go from there. Is the car 5 spd or auto? I remember before i did my clutch and balanced and resurfaced the flywheel my car vibrated rather harshly. I balanced the tires and did an alignment but only after i did the clutch the vibration went away. An unbalanced flywheel will cause a vibration too. The guy at the machine shop said my flywheel needed to be balanced when he resurfaced it and i am glad i did it b/c the vibration went away.

Like everyone said: do your Alignment first because when u install camber kits it will wear out your alignments anyways since u haven't had alginments done. If u step on the brakes and it vibrates on your steering wheel, that means u have warped rotors. If it is just cruising around at any speed and it vibrates it could tire out of balance, separated belt from the tires, & possibly the flywheel which i doubt.

could be ball joints cause mine was roasted and the wheel shook badly when brakes applyed and shook slightly during driving...thought it was the roasted brakes but replaced all the brakes and then checked the ball joint after it woudlnt' go away and it was non existant..lol same with the LCA bushing and the sway bar was disconnected nice find to say the least...lol

tires have 7/11 32ths tread, no excessive wear.
motor has about 75000km.
flywheel was machined just over a year ago and i got a new clutch then as well.
wheels were balanced recently.
i also changed my upper control arms/balljoints.
i will need new rotors, anyone know whats a good value for drilled or slotted rotors. and what pads do u recommend?

personally i highly doubt its your pads/rotors, unless you're ONLY feeling the vibe while your brake. don't waste your money there. if you're positive that your wheels aren't bent and are balanced properly, the next step is to observe your tires.
maybe the belts have shifted (firestones? hahaa) its also a good indication of worn inner/outer tie-rods ends, balljoints, or busted wheel bearing if theres ugly wear
easiest way to check for that is to just jack up the frt end and shake the damn wheels, make sure the frt end is nice and tight before you do an alignment. its pointless to do one if your tie-rod ends or balljoints have to be replaced soon after the alignment is done.
if you don't have a clue, just take it to a shop. don't believe in everything you hear. get professional help. don't change your rotors haha.
