somthings wrong

i dont know whats wrong and i was looking for a diagnosis. my car is fine idiling but when i tap the gas fast and hard its hesitaties and feels as if its not getting enough of somthing wether its fuel/ air or somthin else i dont know. if im driving at a nromal speed its fine but again when i press the gas hard and try to accelerate faster than normal its hesitates and sounds likes its bogging out it doesnt matter which gear im in. also its also does this sometimes on start up as well has a hard time starting and almost boggs out. if anyone knows anything aboiut this or has encountered this same problem please help me out thanks

o2 sensor?

kwikb16a2 24-Sep-2005 01:45 PM

when was the last time a tune up was done? distributor cap, rotor? fuel filter? spark plugs? wire? is the engine light on when this happens?

heels1983 24-Sep-2005 02:03 PM

no the engine light doesnt go on
i have done a tune up yet but when i got the motor approx 100,000 ago i put a new cap/wires/plugs i put a new fuel filter on probably 75000 ago because it was doing this before as well. it went away for a while and came back now
it could be the o2 sensor because the guy that put my motor in for me did a kind of a mickey mouse job and wasnt sure on where exactly to put the sensor. how would i know if it was the o2 sensor?

u should get the engine light if the o2 sensor is no good. Id start with the most basic and cheap parts, fuel filter, cap, rotor, plugs and possibly wires.
