when was the last time a tune up was done? distributor cap, rotor? fuel filter? spark plugs? wire? is the engine light on when this happens?

no the engine light doesnt go on
i have done a tune up yet but when i got the motor approx 100,000 ago i put a new cap/wires/plugs i put a new fuel filter on probably 75000 ago because it was doing this before as well. it went away for a while and came back now
it could be the o2 sensor because the guy that put my motor in for me did a kind of a mickey mouse job and wasnt sure on where exactly to put the sensor. how would i know if it was the o2 sensor?

u should get the engine light if the o2 sensor is no good. Id start with the most basic and cheap parts, fuel filter, cap, rotor, plugs and possibly wires.
