short ram sound

hey, recently installed an aem sri. ive got an odd question for you gals/girls. my intake does not do the whistle sound but it does an aggressive loud growl above 3000 rpm. i was expecting the whistle and was wondering if the loud growl was normal, instead of getting the whistle.

dumb question i know, but im just curious.

I've never heard the wistle before in my life, i only have heard the deep intake sound ever...the only other sound I hear is at idle which I guess is like a hissing sound

mine whistles a bit too. Me thinks its the air moving over the gaps in the design of your intake.

By the "whistle" sound, do you mean the sucking sound the intake makes when you accelerate?

Brian, I think the sucking sound is more of a growl then a whistle. That's why he said he hears a growl and not a whistle. (if thats the sound you were talking about)

You can usually hear a real nice sound at around 3am in the morning when everything is quiet and your start shifting

nothing special

No the sucking sound is that of your money being "sucked" out of your pocket and wasted on mods for your car.

i think it depends on the filter, or the cone u use for it can alter the sound of air going in the intake tube.

If you wanted your car as quiet as possible then you shouldnt have bought an intake in the first place.
