Ractive Headers - failed emissions?

So i've failed my emissions twice now.

I have a new O2 sensor, I get excellent mileage and I haven't really done much to the car from stock.

I'm thinking it might be from my Ractive 4-2-1 headers? the O2 sensor only gets a reading from on pipe...

any ideas?

What numbers did you fail on?? Do you have your stock cat on??

I have a DC sports header and passed no problemo even with the 2 1/4 cat back exhaust. (stock catalytic converter)

Were you getting the cat CEL, maybe bad cat?

You should have two O2 bungs, one in the header before the cat, and one in the end of the cat. Is the O2 plugged in the header??

yes, the O2 is plugged in properly...

I passed everything except the following..

Limit / Reading

HC ppm 75 / 103
CO % 0.42 / 0.71

This is while they were running the car.. if it was the cat, i would get worse results.. and also at the idle?

reset the ecu? how? looks like i'm going to niagara falls or guelph or something friday night... come back saturday and drive it in to get tested.

i use premium gas as i don't see any kind of cost difference... i have been through a lot of tanks lately... a few mini road trips...it's becomming to be that time of year.

tune up, highway. if not time to upgrade my exhaust i guess.

stop running permium, your car doesnt need it and as it is harder to ignite, it may push your numbers up slightly.

$40 1st time
$20 2nd and 3rd

reset

I've gone twice so far.

Both times I've walked into my house and announced it out loud. My dad keeps yelling about it how I should have done this a month ago and now I can't drive at all because my license plate is expired.

He suggests the bus, and I laugh. I'm glad I own the car and that he can't try to teach me a lesson about priorities.

I would rather get a $100 ticket rather then stress and have big hassles for a few weeks.

plus he forgets, I basically don't care about anything. haha

You'll need to get an o2 simulator to help you pass bc you've
relocated your cat.

i've relocated my cat? what are you guys talking about?

my car is stock except for the header and cold air intake.

i replaced the intake manifold with a Ractive header. I just put a brand new OEM O2 sensor in the proper spot for the header. A mechanic installed it for me.

Jason, I'm always on top of things. haha.

it's a test only place... it's a big bay.. you go in... no appointments.. nothing.. park your car in line and wait 20 minutes... they don't offer any mechanical advice.. they are only allowed to give you the ministry's pamphlets.

i'm going back to that place one more time... the guy before me passed the last time...
