yah shocks are one of the more expensive upgrades...even if your were to go buy some cheaper midas shocks, your still looking at over 400$

when your stock shocks do blow... if you keep them... you should consider what you'll be doing with the car... and buy shocks accordingly.... like if your just street driving then get koni reds... if your racing the car koni yellows.... cause the yellows are over kill for the street cause you'd never make use of what they can do....

anyways the moral of the story.... you can use your stock shocks... just be ready to change them when they blow.... if you get lucky it wont be for a long time

i have that set up on......R-1 2 piece gen 3 coils on stock shocks, used to ride like stock but once they settle it gave one bouncy ride, but only on hard bumps, but i'm low anyways, i'm sure if it was up abit more it would be less bumpy

I've been riding on stock shocks with my eibach sportlines for over a year, they're still fine, when they blow out then I'll buy some good shocks.

BTW jj2ii3344 if you're looking for a nice drop w/o coils the eibach sportlines are a nice spring to do it with, I've driven in winter and I've never been stuck, and I drove thru all but the worst days last winter.

i have a feeling my front end will be to low for snow... maybe i'll buy a beater? but most likely i'll just put the stock springs back on the front

haha, what you call "settling" is actually your shocks being finished off... Hence the bouncy ride...
