Problem, please read!!!
I have been noticing lately when it gets cold after I park my car for the next the next day I drive the car, I put down the handbrake and try to drive away, but it still feels like the handbrake is up, after a second, it snaps, then its back to normal. But this morning it never went away and I couldn't go anywhere! Anyone know what my problem is exactly, and how to fix it or how much its gonna cost to fix?
Thanks
Greg

Replacing the brakes and servicing the brakes are two different things?
Assuming its Disc, typically you will be replacing the Shoe and maybe the Caliper, for Drum, you replace the Drum and thingy (lol). But for brake servicing, it would be new brake fluid / bleeding brakes, etc.
Correct me?

Ya
Ya thats the thing, its never done this until now, when its been the coldest night so far this winter. But I don't know, KSR thinks I need to replace the cables.
Anyone know how to change the e-brake lines
Or know any good, reliable, and affordable shops?

Did you ever stop and think that it might have to do with condensation........when it's very old outside, it will freeze and make the brakes stick.........kinda like when you wash your car and you don't dry it of completely......when it gets below freezing, the door are hard to open.
:working:
Once you release the e-brake, does it still do it when you pull it up and then release it agian? I bet it won't. If it doesn't, it was condensation that was frozen to the drums/discs. If it keeps doing it when you release the e-brake, get them checked soon, there is something sticking.

Sounds like your brakes need some TLC.
If you have the time, I'd get a can of WD-40 and spray the cable, I usually make sure all my caliper parts are well greased .
It could also me mositure in the drum, first it's rusting and now it's rusting and freezing.
Grease will help fix that.
But if you're looking for an excuse to upgrade to disc than go for it !

tha'ts what i was thinking, (PULOVR) if its cold, your handbrake can sieze up, b-cuz of the weather, and once its warm enough it will drop, try runing the car a while to let the car itself warm up and see if you cna just drop the e-brake, i dunno might be just taht, it can't just act up all of a sudden, and this type of stufff is suppose to happen this time around.

I tried
PULOVR I did think is was condensation, because it only happens when its really cold. And yes I did try to release the handbrake then put it up and release it again. That didn't work. I'm going to wait till the end of the week cause its supposed to be something like +10 outside.
If nothing happens then I'm going to take it to be looked at.
