Performance injectors and Turbo

I am looking on purchasing some preformace injectors, (getting the car ready for a turbo)

What should I get and what exactly do I need to change before I put the a turbo on my car.

Oh yeah its a stock 93 DX HB.

Fuel managment (computer), injectors, and fuel pump are the most important. Everything else is kinda-sorta secondary.

Plan to spend a good chunk of coin on this project - don't believe the wishful thinking that you can do it for $500 When I bought parts, my fuel pump and injectors alone were $500. You want a GOOD fuel pump. Walbro would do... but I chose a Holley which is a almost double the price.

I am looking to spend about 1000. You know any cheap places to purchase a fuel management computer and fuel pump, and sorry man 280 is too much.

Also what kind of fuel pump and fuel.. computer would I need.

cheap injectors...go to a scrap yard and find a turbo talon the auto's are 390 cc's and the manual's are 450 cc both will suit you fine shoudl be fairly cheap..then get a apexi afc which will run about 300-370 bux..then get a walbro 190 fuel pump..while yoru at if you can rape the turbo talon for an intercooler and turbo aswell...

even DSM 450s run $100 and then you gotta send them out for cleaning and balancing, so add another $100 to that... plus you need a resistor box to run them... another $20. Then you need a manifold ($350 or $150 for an HF one plus adapter plate), computer ($350), pump ($200), turbo ($250+), intercooler ($100), piping ($150-250), down pipe ($100), oil lines + coolant lines ($$$?), gaskets ($100), clutch ($300-400)... and then you can run boost. Oh, and you kinda need a 2.5 inch mandrel bent exhaust and 2.5 inch cat too - another $500. and that's just a cheap 8 psi setup.

I know cuz I've done this before... it can be done cheaper, but at the end, it'll still cost you that to within 10%

How much boost are you planning on running? If you're going to stay under the 200whp/8psi barrier, I'd recommend keeping your fuel system stock (including injectors), and buying one of those FMU's or a Greddy blue box from a 5.5psi kit.

Yeah I am going to keep it stock, and run like 6 psi.

Recommend? I'd say the vortech disc based one (10:1 in your case) is pretty much your only option.

If you have the money, people swear by the "AFC Hack", which requires: Apex'i AFC, larger (450cc?) injectors, missing link to hide the MAP signal, and possibly a resistor box for the injectors and fuel pump.

Ideally, you'd get a chipped ECU (from a vendor like Hondata) that handles boost, and an ODB2->OBD1 conversion harness (with fuel system upgrades as required).

You dont use a missing link with the AFC hack....Also you only use a resistor box IF you are using PEAK AND HOLD injectors.

cee_mon is correct

under 10 psi, you don't need a missing link or check valves

at what psi does the MAP sensor through a CEL if one is trying to manage their fuel with a cheap Vortech disc?

I thought if your MAP sensed any positive pressure then it would send a CEL, therefore check valves were required for any setup that wasn't an AFC hack or complete independent management (i.e. AEM)?

The magic number for the AFC hack is around 10.7 psi.....go over that and bam CEL code.
