performance CAT

Will all aftermarket cats pass emissions?

Im looking at a magnaflow performance cat from automotive-warehouse....will it pass emissions?

chris_si98 17-Oct-2005 08:28 PM

mine did.

Xscorpio 17-Oct-2005 08:29 PM

yes it does, for sure.

civicnation 17-Oct-2005 09:59 PM

keep in mind a lot of cats need to changed after specific mileages

SteveZ 18-Oct-2005 12:48 AM

if it wouldnt pass emissions, what would be the point of selling performance cats be in the first place instead of just replacing it with a straight pipe?

Because under a visual roadside inspection its illegal if you are missing your cat. And highperformance cats are generic meaning on certain cars with less strict emmission standards they may pass fine where as when you install them on another car it may fail.

oh and you might have to get new o2 sensor if you have one on cat.

DXcivicHB 18-Oct-2005 10:15 AM

DOES THE 92 DX HB HAVE A O2 ON THE CAT?

zeeman 18-Oct-2005 10:40 AM

nope....EG's only have 1 4-wire o2

I know that they have the 4-Wire o2, but I always thought there was another one? :shrugs:

because when I went to look for an o2 for my car he said that there were 2 different ones, one for the front and one for the back or whatever... and the one for the front was a lot cheaper...anyways still looking for one dont' want to buy an expensive one, not keep this engine for long

zeeman 18-Oct-2005 10:56 AM

nope, just 1 in the exhaust manifold.

OBD1=1 O2 sensor, OB2=2 O2 sensors
