Question New rear sway bar installed, has some knocking noise?

Car: 6th gen hatch
Rear sway bar: CTR
Endlinks: Honda SIR endlinks
Reinforcement: ASR Racing Brace

I did this myself and it wasn't too bad. After 2 days of driving, I can hear knocking sound coming from the back. It doesn't look to me that the bar has clearance issues. The reinforcement plate is pretty secured. As for the endlinks, I used brand new endlinks and nuts and I have tighten them as much as I could.

My rear hatch is gutted so I hear more noise, just about anything from little stone chip to whatever you can think of. Do you hear knocking noise from your rear sway bar?

Thanks

I've heard that your exhaust can rub the sway-bar when you go over bumps and stuff.

I am using Spoon N1 exhaust, I believe the CTR rear sway bar can clear it no problem. But I am not ruling out any possibilities.

So anyone else has this knocking noise?

your exhaust is probably knocking into it.

give your exhaust a good shake and see if you can replicate the knocking sound.

Ok, I will go check it out.

In case the exhaust is the issue, will this damage anything even from this light knocking?

The car is still running stock suspension, I have the other set of suspension ready but since winter is coming shortly, I don't want to install it now and take it off again in the winter. With the stiff spring rate (14K rear), do you guys think that it will make less height travel and prevent the knocking sound?

Thanks

Jason was correct, one of the bolt was loose.

I got below the car and looked around, looking for possible contact points and couldn't find any. Then I proceed to look for loose bolts and the driver side endlink bolt, the one that was attached to the sway bar itself was loose. It was so loose that I could turn it with my hand. Lucky the problem was brought to attention within 2 days of installation. I then tighten it and test drove the car in our block, just running in circles back and forth and no sound was made.

Lesson learned, and boy, was I an idoit. Thanks for all the tips and help.

Thats the problem with those parts under the car. You need to really tighten it tight preferably with a power tool.

tighten with an air tool not a good idea...

tighten with a torque wrench = good idea

The thing is I tighten the endlink to the sway bar while it was off the car and I wasn't able to get enough foroce to screw them tight. I thought they were fine.

But overall, it was a good experience and the installation was rather easy I must say. No need for jacks (other then moving the LCA to position the D bracket correctly, just to even out both sides) cause the car wasn't lowered and enough room to get under and work on it.

The front won't be easy, and I don't think I can do it without jack stands or torque wrench....

Nova, for the record, OEM bars are quiet... aftermarket bars often knock just cuz. So yeah, when an OEM bar starts to knock, be concerned.

kwik, yeah, the right sway bar will make a huge difference.

++++++ to Nova for doing his own work!
