need mechanics help in setting timing, willing to $$
i need a MECHANIC(not a backyard one) to put my crank pulley back on, and then adjust my timing, the timing belt is already on. i'm in scarboro, ummm u'll need a torque wrench cause i don't have one...lemme know, pm me ur # and we'll talk, oh it's a d series motor.

Just a bit of info to those who haven't installed a T belt before.
A hand torque wrench won't even work.
You must not have been on this board long enough to know that not everyone is savy when it comes to engine repairs.

you can surely tighten the crank pulley bolt with a torque wrench.. you just also need the other special tool to hold the crank from spinning 
but yeah, without that special tool, an air or electric impact wrench is your only bet, i actually had my crank pulley come loose and wobble a little after i did it with just a hand torque wrench.
most mechanics will also put locktite on the bolt, so if you are super paranoid, put some blue locktite on it, and use an impact wrench, you dont want that thing coming off...

Does the repair manual tell you to use a impact gun to tighten the crank bolt?? No.
Yeah I may not have been on this board long enough but I know that telling someone to go use a tool that they most likely don't have is not very helpful. Tell them how to do it properly with the tools that they do have... unless you don't know how to do it yourself... in that case just shut the hell up.

cuz most of us keep an assortment of air tools and a 6hp compressor in our back pockets, right? idiotI know at least 3 ppl with the crank tool. We did a waterpump about 4 months ago with no air tools... we did have the crank tool though.

Honda dealers can order the tool for you. But you can make one easily... well, maybe not YOU, but someone skilled in light fabbing work.

All you do is take a big nut of the same size as the hexagon shape in the crank pulley, and you weld it to a long peice of flat bar, then you drill a large enough hole through it to fit a 17 (or was it 19mm??) socket through it. Voila!

That's what I was trying to say.. people don't have airtools and compressors so don't just come out and say "you'll have to use an impact gun". When in almost all cases all you need are good hand tools and the brains to know how to use them properly..

, the car is currently being worked on(professionally), i'm not getting it back until tmrw. THANKS EVERYONE
