My Quarter Mile Time

Hey everyone what do you think my quarter mile time will be in the summer?

Here is my car

1993 Honda Civic HB CX
Weight: 2150lbs. with driver (Weight)
Engine: D15B7 with 150,000 kms (105 stock hp)
Engine Mods: AEM Cold Air Intake, HP Racing Header, 2.5" piping with High-Flow Cat, High Flow HP Racing Exhaust
Ride Height: Lowered 2.75" all around..

Just curious as to what people think I will do the 1/4 mile in...I know it wont be in the 14's as i wish, but im just curious to see.

Dude, do you weigh 60 lbs? How do you know that's how much your car weighs with you in it? Stock cx is 2097 lbs or in that area...

secondly...i'd say low 16 if you are a good driver and the car is as light as you say.

shave a 1/10th off the stock time for each of your mods LOL, then add 3/10ths cuz it's lowered so much, then add another 3/10ths cuz you are not a professional driver.

Haha, j/k... no one can really tell, just go and find out for yourself. See, I'm afraid to go 1/4 mile racing, I don't wanna break any parts ... I wanna hit the road course though.

That is absurd. You don't want to go drag racing because the chance of breaking parts is higher than at the road course?

OOOOOOOOKay now...drag racing only puts a fraction of the stress that you put on your car by doing circuit racing/auto x.

Edit: The only possible way you might break something is if you use slicks...which are not manditory at all for dragging.

okay 1.8 HB... I didn't wanna be mean, but drag racing is ******* retarded... I really don't see the point of going out and pounding the **** out of the car from a dead stop to the top speed in 1320 feet of straight line... in road coarses, there is a fine balance of handling at the limit, carrying just enough momentum, braking at just the right time... road racing is an art... drag racing is for tards, especially if your car's got no *****... like dragging with a motor with bolt ons is stupid... unless you got some sort of serious power additive, you're wasting your time. In road racing, I can think of 50 cars right now off the top of my head that would be fun on a road course in completely stock form. It's got nothing to do with breaking parts... but the abuse to fun ratio is too high for me to consider it a viable "sport" or entertainment.

I don't understand why are you getting personally offended. Once again it's almost as if you are putting words in my mouth. I didn't say drag is better than circuit racing or vice versa...i was only talking about the risk factor in breaking parts when comparing both types of racing.

I find it really shallow for you to say dragging is for tards, blah blah. I think dragging is a great way to test/tune a car, know what its capable of and be more knowledgable its capabilities on the streets. Not that anybody here street races or anything horrible like that

I think you have been reading too many "jdm" magazines, and now that circuit racing is the trend you had to jump on it. I mean dragging isn't jdm, so why bother, if the jdm people aren't doing it right? A few years ago, the true road course guys were doing their thing while everybody else was all about dragging, now with this jdm crap everyone is a follower.

Anyway, all the power to you. And remember, don't do drugs, because it's not jdm

Not that I don't respect true drag racing... I go over to the States and a friend's dad races his 1967 Nova 502 big block...and that's cool... but really... drag racing a Honda??? Honda didn't put a double wishbone suspension on it so you could drag race. The sheer thrill of really feeling your car and the track is much more exhilerating... but don't worry guys, I don't like NASCAR either... so it's not just dragging I don't like...

1.8HB, it's idiotic comments like yours that make me take it personally... I'm not a JDM follower... as I see you are the one with a h/b, not me. Seems to me you're the JDM lover As a matter of fact I was kicked off jdmcivic.com for arguing with someone about how gay JDM **** is. Like I said, I tried auto-x and it was okay, but I needed the same feeling, but at much higher speeds to make it all fun... I did the drift thing for a long time too... that was okay, but hell on the car and rather dangerous, then I felt the true power of cornering abilities, and I haven't been able to think about anything else since... that's why I'm a fan of the road races... I even try to catch SCCA races on Speed Channel for the technical driving and extreme control those guys exhibit... I study their moves and try to better my driving. PS: **** you and your sarcasm

You really need to make up your mind on some issues.

And don't take offence when somebody disagrees with you, it's not personal. You are not always right, and it can't be your way whenever you want it to be. Suck it up and move on.

BBARBULO i agree with U %100, so dont chill out, keep speakin your mind, i think that these hondas are not meant for the 1/4 mile tooo .....leave the 1/4 mile for the V8 buoys.....im not sayin it isnt cool to see a honda do 11's and 12's down the strip but come on buoys these cars are made for the road course... with a good setup ie, engine, suspension and brakes in an EG hatch nothin touches it on the track......AGREEE???????

Dude, "EGs" are front wheel drive, that's your first disadvantage to "EGs."

If you think about it, hondas aren't made for anything but commuting while saving some gas, so don't tell me they are not meant for drag racing, they aren't meant for drag racing as much as they aren't meant to be raced around a track.

I still do it, because it's a cheaper alternative to buying a sports car...at least that's my reasoning...plus i love the shape of "EGs" and the fact that a car that was meant for this and that like you say, does just those exact things, and performs very well too.

can't we all just say.......

"we all love Honda's"?

simple and to the point.

I like to race my bit racers, but if I ever hear someone make fun of that, I'll kick them in their JDM.

Everyone has there own opinion on any given subject......some people talk out of their ***, while others know their ****. That's why I keep my eye's and ears open for new/old ideas. You can say that you are both right, as well as both wrong.

but remember, you both have something in common, you like car's.

peace.
