My car looks realy fast but its not. Please help
just got my 1st car like a few mouths a gooo. its a 93 civic dx. have bin spending alot of money and work on the out side of my car like the paint job, cf hood, rims,lip kits and coil overs jdm stuff!
car loooks mean and fast but is slow as hell... im not liking it. I want to do a engine swap. could u please tell me what swap you recamend ? im a daily driver mostly on the hi way.. things i have bin thinking about? si trubo ? , b16a, b18c, b20 v tec some one said h22 but i dont noo if im that hard core. im serious about a swap would love any help help thanks whats the best bang 4 the dolller ?

u don't want a b16a for a highway car...trust me
And you'll miss torque if you have a b16a so i'd say the b18c1.
Or you could do the b16a swap. Get urself a b18c block and use the p30 head, p30 intake manifold and p30 pistons and have urself and nice 11.3 to 1 compression ratio along with the torque and oil squirters of the b18c1 and good flowing head from the b16a. Its the poor man's type R and its already a project in the works...don't worry i will post pics when i am done.

a b16 swap will allow you to toy with all those pesky sunfires and cavys
but a b18c would be much better

if you do the swap yourself the h22 is the best bang for the buck...
if your paying someone then probably a b20 or b18c i think
but this thread wont really help you make a decision cause it'll just be everybodies personal opinions on what is best

Depends on the money you have, what kind of results you want..
My opinion is H22. For daily driving it the most fun you can have with a car.. power starts around 3000 rpm and just takes off. Gas mileage is easily 450KM/TANK on 40L tank. and You never have to rev very high to start moving.. On the highway, it's the best, touch of the throttle @ 140km/hr and you hitting 170+ within a few seconds.
But, that's just me..

build a frankie motor like iv got...b16 head for better flow, full type-r internals, b18c1 block and then jsut add other lil mods onto it, like chipped ecu, cam gears, type-r header,c.a.i, 2.5" exhaust, ligthened flywheel and stage 2 clutch and so on u get the point and leave h22's in your dust. or just do like cablerat said and swap a h22 in yourself or a b18c1 etc, much cheaper..

but imagine an h22 with similar mods
also a b series anything can't match an h22 for torque, not without divine intervention anyways ie turbo/ supercharger

I'd like to see how my STOCK motor, non-LSD, stock suspension, heavy SI holds up to your frankie motor setup..
Let me know when your going to cayuga next time.

^ y that wiuld b cool, ill b at the next cscs event there....previous i ran a 14.4 withthe vtec not hooked up, 175 bald wintetr tires (spun till halfway throughb 3rd) and a badly slipping clutch till it finally blew haflway down the track. next time i go back the car will b sprayed and on slicks..but we can give her a few goes without spray. i raced a h22 94 coupe si at thelast cscs event and he did a 14.9 which was decent.....iv heard of stock h22's in eg's running anywhere from 14-14.9....the h22 has the bottom end torque but my high reving b18c1/c5 once up in the higher rpm range jsut pulls and pulls..this motor in the car now has run a 13.4 on a slick as sits and a 12.8 on a 75 shot by a previous owner. im still tryin to get it there.
