My Car Ain't Starting!!!!!.....help Me Out!!!
 

Well whenever I try to start it up, it just doesn't wanna start up...
here are my symptons....
there is fuel...power to the fuel pump, and pressure under the hood at the fuel filter...I took out a spark plug and I could smell fuel, there is spark because I put a screw driver into the wire and put it close contact to the strutbar and there was spark...
there's juice cuz I just changed the battery....

well it won't start one day of cranking for about 20 mins,
but the following day i'll crank it for about 2 mins then nothing,
another 2 mins then you can hear something's combusting in the motor...then another minute will spark her up....

anybody know what's wrong with my ride?

BTW it's a 92 Si Hatch with a D16z6

SO does it sometimes start, then stay running for a bit and then shut down?

What gas do you use? If your putting the high quality gas...your probably havin trouble starting cuz the gas sucks in cold conditions. It simple burns well hotter and cleaner once the car is up and running.

Try parking your car in the garage if you have one for a night. then try starting it the next day. Maybe its just not a good cold starter.

Im not a pro, but sometimes ppl forget to see the obvious..hope it helps bro.

The day after the car doesn't wanna start,
it'll hesistate for about 6 tries....
then after that, i'l try it again, it'll struggle then get a high idle...
does that help out?

thats the problem i had last nite, then after a few tries it started, not sure whats up with that

Starter motor perhaps. Have you tried bump starting the car when it won't start by the usual method??

have you done any work to the car? timing could be off, improper firing order etc.

How can you determins that?
the ignitor?
or the ECM?
that was my guess



and no I haven't tried bump starting...

My guess is the ignitor/ECM .... If it turns out to be that I have a brand new one for sale. But usually an Ignitor or Ignition coil can prevent a car from starting if everything else is ok.
