Muffler Sounds

I was wondering what type of muffler or any additional parts can I put in a crx or civic eg sedan to make it sound like those GT racer, instead of a loud harley davidson sound that you can hear from those BIG exhaust system.

actually what im saying is I want to have a sort of a soft sounding exhaust rather than the loud one. The normal exhaust that I can hear are the really loud ones, it sounds similar to a harley motorcycle. I really like the sound of the GT cars, they are not too loud and not too silent that you cannot hear it.

Apexi World Sport...we've covered sound many times, and this one is just a bit louder than stock, and nice and deep at WOT.

What about a twin-loop design if u want a more silent sounding exhaust. But bring out the cash money cuz it isn't cheap!

yeah ehehe I like the twin-loop eheheh but its really expensiver, around US$1000 I think, is there an alternative to that exhaust that sounds almost the same,

got this from a review at carreview.com

I want the --deep, clear throaty growling exhaust note

I dont want the ---(farting, hooting, coughing sounds)

ehehehhe

farting sounds are caused by not having a resonator.

Weed cutter sounds are caused by having a cheap high flow cat or no cat at all.

If u want deep, then greddy evo is what i suggest. Now thats DEEP! But you gotta understand you only have a 4 banger. 4 cylinder engines create a higher pitched exhaust sound. Your exhaust system will never sound like the acoustics of a gt mustang only because it is a 4 cylinder.

If you ask me... sound sux when it comes exhaust systems. Most ppl think louder is faster when in fact it's not. I had a tanabe racing medallian and WOW that was loud. It gives you a headache after a while. Thats why i switched to a type r muffler. It's the next best thing to the twin loop!

did you miss my post boss?

hehe........

if you want a catback exhaust...... go with a stainless steel magnaflow......... will run about $550 at JPG exhaust in oakville........ but my exhaust sounds like stock at idling, and a VERY low deep growl ( not fart ) at lower rpm's

ill try and make it out to a meet to show ya

im VERY happy with it

I have an HP Racing 3 inch exhaust with 2 3/4 inch piping with a high flow cat and i will tell you the truth...its loud to the point that it really gets annoying and sometime even a little bit of a headache after long trips...yeah i mean it sounds good but over time it turns out to be a headache...

I am very happy with the skunk2 exhaust. At idle it is very quiet, and only loud when full throttle. There is nothing cheap sounding about it. It's a little more money that most out there, but I've never seen anything close to it for looks, quality of contruction, and especially sound. Also, cops do not bother me with it.

Magnaflows and cheap mufflers are either too loud or sound like crap. I am so in love with this exhaust, I'll make the time to demo it.

I used to have a magnaflow. Even with two resonators it was loud enough to wake the neighbourhood at idle. The girlfriend knew when I was arriving. The one thing I did like about the magnaflow was its sound at high rpm and the quality of construction (although you must keep it clean as the quality of steel is not that high and I found a number of rust spots when I took it off only 6 months later.
