mini me ecu question

hey guys im doin a mini me dx bottum end si top so should i use a p28 ecu or a d15 b p08 ecu ? im guessin the po8 because wouldnt the 1.6 give too much gas?

imported_gatherer 13-Mar-2003 08:47 PM

I think the p28 because without that you got no vtec

1SikCoupe 13-Mar-2003 09:10 PM

the p08 is vtec d15b its from the civic vti which is a si

imported_gatherer 13-Mar-2003 09:22 PM

my bad I thought it was for something else... yes that would be a good one to go with

Use the ECU from the top end

You still need to flow the injectors

Either one will work fine, the Jap spec one may have more aggressive maps...

bbarbulo 14-Mar-2003 09:43 AM

By aggressive, you mean leaner, right? Personally, I'd use the P28 cuz if you modify the volumetric efficiency enough, the P28 will allow for enough fuel to be safe on the street. Lean out too much or run a tank of bad gas, and the other ECU could help you melt your pistons. :shrugs: P28 is a safer choice.

donesixer 14-Mar-2003 11:25 AM

Well, JDM ECUs typically go a little more aggressive on the timing curves. If anything they would throw more gas in there.
People run P03s on the B16 swaps all the time.
Mo powah. If it knocks, go up a level of gas or retard the static timing, but I don't think there will be a problem.
