Here is my story...my pads were really worn down, but the rotors were in good shape, so I decided to get the pads changed. Unfortunately my mechanic was out of the country for a while...so I called few places... and got the qoutes...Midas gave me a good qoute..so being brake specialists LOL...I went there and did a pad slap...I know...some of u may flame for that...but its not that bad. So everything is fine and dandy for a week or so and then my brakes started to make grinding noise....then another week goes and my steering wheel starts to vibrate every time I brake...then in about 3 days I hear this crazy sqeeeling noises from my brakes...so no surpise there my rotors are ****ed...

So I went back to midas...they said my rotors are done...ok changed my rotors now...a week goes by I start hearing constant humming from the front brakes...in another 3 days I hear the griding noise AGAIN WTF!!!! new pads and rotors!!!!! So now grinding ...squeeking...humming...all over again...I feel like going there and start throwing pads at Midas mechanics!!!

Anyways, dont b stupid like me and go to Midas EVER!!!!

PS. Can any1 suggest as to why this my be happening, maybe even clear Midas' name! I think the pads they installed are ****....any other suggestions?

why would you even goto midas? are you sure they changed your rotors and not resurface them? i don't think brand new discs would be ****ed up at a few days. next time, go grab some oem discs and decent pads and DIY. it's not that hard at all. never go cheap on brakes man, so many people don't realize how important their brakes are. SPEND the extra money to get it done properly and ask around for a decent shop just incase your mechanic is out of town again. i'd never bring my car to midas, mr. lube, speedy, or any of those places. they all just try to make as much money as they can and don't give a damn about your car.

Ya...they put new rotors on...for sure...and I agree with u 100% though, but wuts done is done...

did they put those lifetime warranty pads on your car? if so I heard those are super hard and eat through your rotors, but shouldn't have messed them up that fast

First off Honda rotors are so thin to begin with if you re-surface them with-in no time you will end up warping them. Ok as to the noise I would take it somewhere since you don't seemed inclined to do it yourself. Ask around i'm sure there are some trusted shops around where you live.

it takes all of half an hour at the MOST per wheel to do brakes.. buy some tools and teach yourself some life skills this time.. dont pay for something you can easily do yourself.

-10mm wrench
-channel locks (to compress brake caliper piston if need be),
-flathead screw driver (to pop caliper up if stuck)
-anti seize lube
-sandpaper (I use it to clean off and rough up the pad surface if servicing the brakes)

thats about it, and of course jackstands to safely have the car supported. replace pads and/or service pads...15-20 per wheel starting out, 10min after you've done em a few times.

to get the rotors off, there are two phillips screws that are always seized, plus you need a 14 or 17mm to get the caliper brackets off, the rotors are always seized....always.

my rotors werent seized, then again they had anti seize on them

on my buddies car almost every single rotor screw was seized, so I ended up just drilling the heads off of them, that took about 2 min per rotor to do and he was fine

A manual impact screwdriver & hammer usually break those screws free.

princess auto has them on sale next week for $10 I believe and yes they work good, but when even those dont work your screwed and need to drill

when you do brakes anytime even if you just replace the pads you either replace the rotors at the same time of application or machine the rotors. never just change 1 part and expect it to be all good, they should have done so and or at least recommended it to you.
