long tread tires

Hi,

I have a 2000 CRV and looking to purchase new WINTER tires. I do a lot of driving each day. I’ll give you an idea of how much driving I do…I bought a new set of A/S tires (Firestone, nothing special) last year and their worn down almost.

Can any of you suggest some? I’m looking to spend around $500. Comfort, handling, and performance don't matter just a long tread wear tires.

Cheers!

Though not a snow tire these might be what your looking for:
BF Goodrich Control Plus

I believe you are going to find it difficult to find a dedicated winter tire that has a high treadwear rating. Most winter tires have softer rubber allowing them to work in a low temperature environment, the tradeoff is such that they wear faster in warm weather.

You best bet would be to find an all season tire with both high treadwear rating and an aggressive tread pattern that would be perform well in winter conditions. Do a search for some reviews on tires for your CRV, there are lots out there. Best of luck

^^ those are not winter tires. It may be hard to find a long lasting (high treadware rating) winter tire since they are meant to be soft to grip ice/snow and for $500 that also dosen't buy alot of tire either. A hard compound high treadware rating winter tire will be harder to find, but what size do you need for the CRV as well?

if you go to 1010 tires and search by vehicle and year it shows 2000 CRV takes 205/70/15 and then lists several tires. a treadware rating of 500 is high and would likely help last awhile...but in a winter tire, i donno if you'll see that high...especially for like $110 per tire plus tax = $506

Michelin all the way and the best tires and also the best all season if u want the tires to last long. They go around 140.000km approx. They ride very good and quiet, but not for performance wise. Michelin Harymony is good.Hydroedge is good too.

someone posted about the best economy, mid-range and high-end winter tires

i think your best bet is to get the best economy winter tires because it doesnt have some super soft compound like the higher end winter tires do but still gets the job done.
