Knuckle Question

I have a 94 EG cx I am doing the integra front brake swap, and yesterday I had my new Lower balljoint pressed in and I used a 2001 integra GSR balljoint. Right now I try to install it , everything is fine except that the knuckle would not connect with the upper control arm. The whole knuckle is tilting from the inside...what should I do? If was fine few days ago when I try em on. Thanks...please help.

all balljoints in eg ek da and dc2 platforms should be the same size and taper. so you are doing something wrong.... double check your work. I'm not sure what you mean the knuckle is tilting from the inside? that confuses me

if you can't get it in, remove the lower shock bolt from the fork so you can drop the lower control arm a lil more to give you extra clearance so you can pop the upper control arm into place.

yeah, but I can't it won't move over to attach the UCA. The picture is not really showing that its tilting to the outside. Maybe I've pulled the axle out and now the knuckle is tilting...??

Should I tighten the nut on the lower balljoint first?

ok so you have the LCA attached and now you can't push it into place so it can attach to the UCA. yeah, then I would bet the axle is separated. seat the axle first, make sure it's well engaged and then try again. best of luck. going for girls and beers now.... ttyl and good luck

no, don't tighten the nut.... just have it there (start the nut but don't tighten it) just so the knuckle doesn't fall on your head LOL

frustration is just part of working on your car, it's the end result that makes you feel like the man. lil problems can only be expected. just remember, it's all just nuts and bolts, don't let it own you. seems to me your problem is quite simple... you'll feel the axle seat itself as it pops into place, that's how you know you've conquered it. let us know how it all works out for you

man jsut bend that **** back...I mean I coudl move my **** around fine...just use some muscle and bend it to the upper control arm...it's suppose to be able to move around abit when the lower ball joint is in....just grab the knucle and push it till it lines up.

I jsut did mine last weekend and that's what I did so,....your axle seems seated fine...your could also try putting the upper in then tryin to seat the lower..

If you need any help, you can add the email address you were emailing me at before to your msn.

Burning the jam nut on the outter tie rod, having fun with it. Should I write a how-to about this swap?
