JRSC to Turbo...

Hey guys, let me start of by saying, forgive my ignorance!

But im new to all this scene and whatnot... So im learning!

I was wondering if it makes sense to go from a B18C1 S'Charged to turbo?

Thats it.. hehe thanks!

IMO it wouldn't be worth the hassle or money. Just get a different pulley for the supercharger and run more boost (if your engine can take it).
Personally i would turbo a 4 cylinder before i would supercharge one, simply because superchargers take power to make power. Meaning that if your engine only makes 160whp before the supercharger the s/c isn't going to be very efficient and its not going to make a lot of power. But if your 350 small block puts out 300whp already then a supercharger will be quite efficient, especially compared to a little 1.8L. Turbo is the way to go on our small displacement engines.

what he's saying is, since you already have the supercharger, you shouldn't spring the money for a turbocharger. Instead you should just upgrade your supercharger by purchasing a different pulley that will increase the power.

Near the end he was just trying to explain that a better route would of been to turbocharge in the first place, instead of supercharging your motor.

I hope that clears his post up for you.

well get larger injectors an aftercooler and some good management, this will help make more power. Then you can get a smaller pulley and run more boost, depending on how much your engine can take, stock i'd say 12psi tops.

I hope your not running your car on stock suspension and brakes along with ****ty tires, because personally I wouldnt go adding more power before upgrading those areas first.

it comes with a stock 6psi pulley right, go with a 9psi and you should be good to go stock. or build the engine and run 12psi but thats $$$

fuel is another issue, so larger injectors may be needed as well
