Iridium plugs

I was told they only start to help when you start to mod the engine. ie. wires, high output coil, fuel psi regulator, air intake, header/exhast........ Other than that, Just stay with the stock stuff that originaly came on your car (NGK). If your engine burns oil,(even a little bit of it), the plugs will get fouled quickly, and any advantge that the iridium plugs might of had, flies out the window.

Unless you've got a nicely rebuilt motor or running FI, you should stay with the stock plugs, wires, distributor cap etc etc..... these stock components believe it or not are actually pretty damn good..

since we are on the topic of spark plugs, i'll ask my question here then.

what would you suggest on replacing spark plugs? platinum or non-platinum? i heard non-platinum suppose to give better sparks and platinum just last longer. i am doing maintanence on my car and the plugs looks ok, but i haven't replacing them ever since i got my car and it's been sparking for 66k already.

Dude just stick with stock... I'm running stock NGK's on my rebuilt motor and everything runs just peachy. And these are cheap enough that you can afford to replace them more frequently than the more expensive platinum's or iridiums.
