cold air intakes are more powerful and short rams are less.

but cold air intakes not only suck in cold air, it will suck in water and stuff as well... could damage your engine big time...

Bah, it's a big debate....some ppl say one thing, others another. Basically, if you are just in it for the sound, get a short ram. If you are serious about upgrades, get a CAI...or better yet, a Comptech Icebox. Don't waste your money on a FMCAI, that's pure assfook as far as I'm concerned for so many reasons. The water thing...your CAI filter would have to be entirely submerged in water to draw water into the combusion chamber...that's pretty tough to do, no matter whom you ask, but if you are concerned, get an AEM bypass valve which opens when the pressure increases as it would if water was being drawn. Personally, I think a GS-R, SiR, or Prelude OEM intake is optimal for those applications, so if you can make one fit your car with a K&N installed, you're laughin'

I dunno like $40 US or something.... Not hard to install if your intake is two part. Otherwise, you gotta cut your CAI in two and throw this peice in the middle.

Comptech Ice Box gets my vote for its "stock" look and performance.

Here's an article to a review on it:

what is the pricing on one of these? do you think that it would be able to fit in a 4th gen with a D16Z6?

A Comptech Icebox is like a Type R intake improved.... that's the best way to describe it.
