intake question: ractive 3" vs AEM 2.5"

Hey Guys,
I have a Ractive superflow 3" short ram.
Just recently purchased an AEM 2.5" short ram.
I was just wondering which one in your opinion would be the better one to go with since they're different sizes but also different brand names.
let me know what you think !

thanks!!

go with the 2.5" AEM
should have a bit more low end then the 3" Ractive

3" is too big to maintain proper velocity for the air charge....our engines don't suck enough air to need a 3" intake pipe. It just allows it to make noise and sound cool, that's all. It's ghay AEM would be slightly better...get back your curve w/o losing the top end.

i noticed that my revs drop a lot faster now what i have the AEM in. does that have anything to do with the size ???
pardon my ignorance.

thanks guys

Nope....that would have to do with rotational mass that has nothing to do with the intake. A lighter flywheel would make the revs drop quickly. Remember, when you lift off, the throttle body closes and no more air gets in except at the IAC valve. So the intake is cut off from the engine at the throttle body w/ the plate closed.

so lightened fly wheel will be the best way to resolve that issue?
Hey man thanks for all your input. I got more then i needed but more opinions on what intake to use are still welcome

thanks!

I was saying a lightened flywheel will help your engine rev up a lot quicker, but when you lift off, the revs will drop even quicker... since there is less rotational mass to maintain momentum of the rotating assembly (crank, flywheel, pistons, rods, etc.) You can't lose with an AEM intake...esp going from a Ractive one.

If I knew u're getting the AEM I could've sold u mine
coz I "HATE" the AEM coz it's making me loose so much low end torque

Neither will make that much of a difference man...the amount of horespwoer either would add cant be felt really... so i say save ur money and get the ractive... i say this having had the aem on my old civic.....

if both cost the same, go with the aem, it may be a little bit better, but still really negligible compared to the money ud be saving...
