I installed an Ractive intake on a 96 CIVIC SOHC SI VTEC AUTO .

THe problem is, it makes this really gay whistling noise under normal loads (partial throttle)..

The intake is for a 99 B16A civic SIR, so there are 3 hose fittings as a opposed to the two, but i just covered up one of the holes..

THe whistling is highly noticable... And it doesn't sound like its comin from the intake but from the engine..

No leaks detected..

Never happend on my protege. So i have no clue.. VTEC sounds awesome with an intake.. Can't wait to get a CAI for my 2k2 Max

It's a hissing sound right? That's normal.

Sorry I dont mean hissing (normal with all intakes!!)

ITs an additional whistling noise that comes and goes..

ANd annoying.. I have had intakes installed on other cars and i never heard this noise before!!

I have that kinda noise sometimes, but not from my intake.
From my windshield maybe.

Its not that kind of whistling.. maybe you guys going to the meet on tuesday can help!! I will be there with my 2k2 and Em's civic

I have a ractive intake as well. I have the 3 plugs with one pluged up like you. I also have that same sound. It's normal. My friend's intake does the same. It's not that bad!
