how much for a shop to install valves and retainers
#3
depends....is the head on the block in your car? Or sittin on a bench in your basement.?
If its on the car you will have to remove the head regardless seeing as you want to replace the valves. If you were just replacing the valve springs and retainers it can be done with the head still on, you just need to fill the cylinder with air (like a leakdown test) to keep the valves from falling out when you remove the keepers.
So do yourself a huge favor and get a new headgasket, new valve seals and some ARP headstuds (if you can afford them), if not at least get new head bolts from honda.
So, if its on the block i'd say look to spend $300+ just on labour. If its out and disassembled it shouldn't be too much....maybe $150?!?
