Hello folks; newbie to TCC

Hello folks,

I am new here to Toronto Civic Club (I am a user at Club Civic). Anyways, hopefully this can be my new grounds as I live in Toronto and since I live here, I got to know the people here and know some great stores.

Anyways I have a 93 Honda Civic DX HB that is waiting to be transformed (once I get the money). I am pondering getting a B16A2 engine or the A3 which I think is from the Del Sol. Anyways I was wondering if anyone knew if those engines in Canada were automatics or did they have a manual tranny?

Thanks Torontonians (and abroad!)

Oh yeah, Go Flames Go! Kick Tampa's ***!

Thanks for the welcomes!

Hey Matt...So both A2/A3 have Auto tranny versions right? I was told at Club Civic that they only had manual versions. It must be because they are US base and in Canada, it must be different. Then great then!

You will be able to use any hydrolic B-series tranny. If you crazy seriuos and are going to be having some extra power, get a Type R tranny....LSD equiped.

i disagree... in North America I've never heard of an auto B16A2/3. I can nearly guarantee there are no auto B16A2/3 engines. Auto B16As come from Japan, so if you want a B16A auto, you can get an imported one.

As for the auto, never seen one around, especially one swapped into a car.

Anyways............

Okay you guys are right. I just checked the specs for the Del Sol and the SiR and it's all manual transmissions with no auto available. So I think I will learn how to drive a manual? Anyways if I do go with the manual, the trans inside my car is an AUTO stick so I guess I will have to convert the auto to a manual right? Does that cost much? Darn this sucks.

93 swap to stick B16A is a natural.... pure bolt in, very easy! auto>manual adds an extra... like $300-500 on top of the cost of the swap, just cuz you need a pedal cluster and some hydraulic lines and clutch master cyl. Not a big deal at all.... all the other parts are pretty easy. Fear not... stick rawks

Argh I want a stick so badly but my mom was like why don't you get a auto because what in case if the family needs to drive it and what if it costs too expensive to convert (limitz says +1200 and bbarbulo says +500). So i dunno...lol

Now I'm contemplating getting the cheaper 127HP engine (which i have to figure out what code is it...lol

DAMN< DAMN and DAMN
