h22 in my eg
I've been reading up on positives and negatives of this swap and iv decided im going to get rid of my ls and go for an h22a swap..ive seen videos of egs with them and they just fly.The engines are fairly inexpensive aswell. What do you guys think?
p.s ill be going to ********s for the swap.

i was at cayuga and some guy in a red eg was hitting mid to high 13s with an h22 in an eg and i think just i/h/e. i would run it with an h2b plate for the tranny and throw a gsr s80 LSD and it'd be a GSR on steroids.
if you already have an LS bottom end i would just do an LS vtec or something. it would be cheap and just grab a b16 tranny or something. It would be quick... your LS tranny has some long *** gears so thats why your not accelerating as fast as you want to be...

yeah, it would be a beefy hatch man... once you hit third gear in those trannys you just really start hauling ***... plus, h22s are sooo cheap now compare to some of the other motors... i would seriously look into the h2b adapter plate... it'll let you put any b-series tranny on the h motor and they are much better trannies than the h22s stock one... its the 1st gear thats killer... i pull on them all the time(im talkinig preludes) in their 1st and usually 2nd... then they really start coming.

But keep in mind parts are a bit more expensive and rare on the h-series than b-series. Also, if you have huge power goals for the h22, they aren't the most ideal to begin with

The swap is a decent choice. Cablerat did his own swap when he had his old car, perhaps he can give you some hints about it.
I saw his old car (after he sold it to another TCC member) in action and it was impressive.

Id go for it. Good power for the money if you dont' plan on going to town on the motor. If you gut the car out and do some minor bolt on's they can be rockets. I know a guy with an SRT-4 with the stage 2 mopar kit and he said he got cleaned by an H22 EG.

yeah, its true that fast is technically top speed and quick could be interpreted as rate of acceleration.
one car goes 0-100 in 6 sec and 0-200 in 18 sec where the other car goes 0-100 in 7 sec and 0-200 in 16 sec... depends on gearing and power of course...

No sweat my friend.
H22 has a good torque pickup, which will definitely help you for being quicker. Read up on the H->B transmission adaptor if you really want a quick pick up off of the line.
2.2 liter + 4.7 (or 4.9) FD and LSD, that's all you need in a light chassis. But the short block requires trimming to accommodate the drive axle.
