Lightbulb Guess what I found at CT: Amsoil 0W-40!!!

I dunno if this is new to you but it is to me! It's placed in the small engine fluid section, and its got the name of "4-stroke engine oil" or something like that.

Upon reading the info on the label, it turns out they actually recommend it for car too, and it is said to be a direct replacement for cars that run 5W-30 ---- that's us!!!

So what do you guys think? At $10.50 it's a little steep, but not much more so than regular 5W-30 Amsoil. Plus it's available from CT, so the convenience factor should be considered as well.

What do you guys think?

I dunno, I just figured, 0W-40 flows better so it's better for our engines, no?

at summer temps, whether it's 0 or 5, it won't make a difference.

as for running 40 weight... I'd recommend not unless you are racing or have a hardcore built motor.

I use Motul, quality oil, too. I wouldn't mind try AMSoil too.

I ran 10w-50 in my old car.
She liked to burn a bit of oil sometimes.

grr just bought 9 bottles of sealed 5w30 Redline. Should I find some 10w30 for the summer and keep the redline 'till it gets colder?
What's the shelf life on that stuff, I know it doesn't last forever.
