2.4L GT engine? why the hell would he swap that motor in. That quad 4 motor is like THE WORST motor GM ever made. So many problems with that thing. I'd rather just stick with the 2.2L

^ the 2.4l isnt a quad 4 motor, only the 95 z's and gt came with the quad 4 and its a 2.3l not a 2.4l

1.6L SOHC VTEC... never! the sunfires are too Torquey but die in the top end

i had a 2.0L DOHC NEON, and i ate those things left and right... and plus i had some torque too something i miss so much....
wirth the mods i had on my Neon, i was as quick as a civic swapped with a GSR motor

all i had was Intake, chipped, AFX pully, solid FMM, solid rear bobble strut, and i dont remember, but that car was fun to drive and not to mention pretty damn confortable.

I have a 95 Civic and a 96 Sunfire. The Civic will have the lead until about 60-65km/h. After that the sunfire will accelerate faster because of the oversized engine.

I've raced 'em many times. And mine is a 2.2 not a 2.4. :P

Sorry man. It's raw power comming out of the Sunfire engine. It's not far from twice the size of yours.

Depends on the race type.

0-60: you'll win.

1/4 mile: he'll win.

anything longer: he'll win.

drifting: you got the stuff baby.

There are always someone else faster. You need to get your car dyno-ed / tuned and start making changes that way. Racing another car won't tell you anything.
