ES Bushing Install

I'm finally gonna take the plunge and try the suspension bushing install myself. I've already forced a couple of sleeves out using a screwdriver and hammer but am runnning into problems getting the damn bushings out. Instead of burning them out I'm gonna try submerging them in acetone for acouple of hours and dissole the bad boys out. Anyone have any tips on this install?

take the control arms, put them in a vice, drill numerous times around the bushing, bang out the rubber with a hammer and punch or a socket the same size...

then take a hacksaw, and cut the sleeve out, and pry it out with a flat screwdriver or punch... easy easy.

Which sleeve are you talking about cutting out. So far all of the sleeves have come out easily with the exception of the the front upper control arm. Here's a picture of the one I'm referring to.

Another thing, how is this bushing gonna fit in the space provided. Looks to me like there is no way that a bushing of that diameter will fit in the space provided.

I didn't burn any... had access to a press though, kinda loud and scary but worked pretty slick!

I'm glad I don't need to put the upper control arm ones in, they're not needed with my ingalls camber kit...

For the top upper ctrl bushings you have the inner sleeve which I have removed already and the bushing which is also gone. Now did you remove the outer sleeve or does it stay intact cause it looks to me like it's part of the ctrl arm. Oh yeah, what do you mean by creative? Any help with the tops is greatly appreciated.

This is what I'm talking about. The metal part that the arrow is pointing at. Does this get removed or is it part of the unit. Thanks

here ya go... the red arrows are the outter sleeve you gotta remove...

the green arrows are the center sleeve/rubber you have to remove

then the blue is just to show how that urethane place fits in size wise

Awesome reply, very informative. I'm gonna try heating it up then using the manual press at work to force that sucker out.
